DataGEMS at EOSC Winter School 2026

The EOSC Winter School 2026 was successfully held on 27–29 January 2026 in Nice, France, bringing together representatives of the European research community, resource providers, and key contributors to the EOSC Federation.
The event was actively attended by the Coordination Manager Georgia Koutrika and the Project Manager Eleni Petra of DataGEMS project, highlighting DataGEMS’ engagement with EOSC-related developments and strategic discussions.
Organized by the EOSC Association, with the support of the EOSC Gravity project, the Winter School served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and reflection on the implementation and future development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
The first day featured the EOSC Stakeholder Brokerage Event, which fostered networking and matchmaking among EOSC Nodes, service and resource providers, and other stakeholders. The following two days focused on thematic sessions and interactive workshops addressing key areas such as federating capabilities and interoperability, resources, and competences and training.
Through structured discussions and collaborative group work, participants analysed challenges, identified potential solutions, and contributed to the formulation of recommendations and roadmaps to support the next steps of the EOSC Federation. The EOSC Winter School 2026 reaffirmed its role as a key forum for collaboration and capacity building, supporting the advancement of Open Science across Europe.
